Morene I think that can be said of every nation on earth. Differences in cultures need to be understood, not judged as inherently good or bad.

If we focus on the differences that strengthen a culture, community, discipline of practice, etc we can innovate in ways that allow that paradox to be a wonderful opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.

Thank you Richard. People, not technology are what will create the best solutions. Technology, statistics - all are just tools to help us connect to and understand others. In some cases they are excellent resources, however if used within the wrong context they can be a powerful means of destruction.

I'm back in Canada now but hope to return to Jamaica in the near future to share more ideas and experiences.

Hi Jeff,
I am a Jamaican that has traveled to other countries and I have never experiended the level of genuine care for others as in Jamaica ;however we are a bit of a paradox- we are can be extremely good or extremely bad.
We love and are very proud of those who keep our flag flying high and nothing glavanise us more.
We love to have strangers among us and are mindful to ensure that they feel the "vibes" in other words we take care of them.
I am therefore not surprised by your sentiments.
"Take care and walk good"

Hello Jeff,

It is good to see that someone can visit Jamaica and look past the present but misleading crime statistics and see our true culture and "feel" the heart of the Jamaican people. Enjoy the rest of your time here. Make sure you get hold of our famous jerked foods - chicken, pork, fish ;-)
